What a Walmart task does on a drop night, the two kinds of Walmart release, and where Walmart interrupts.

Two kinds of release

Walmart sells some drops straight from the product page and runs others as a drawing: you enter, and Walmart picks who gets to buy. The task's Walmart Mode (Create a task → Advanced, or Edit all) picks which one you're doing.

• Normal: the task watches the product page and checks out when it's in stock.
• Drawing: the task enters the drawing for you. Rows go Entering Drawing → Entered, then wait for Walmart's result. Drawing Closed means entries are over.

Before the drop

• Save the address and card on walmart.com with Update billing/shipping in Accounts. Walmart texts a code when a wallet changes; have the phone handy.
• Decide on Allow third-party sellers. Off (the default) means the task only buys when Walmart itself is the seller, not a marketplace seller. The row says who it's waiting on.
• Run the task on an in-stock item once.

A normal run

Starting → Signing In → Signed In → Waiting For Restock → Adding To Cart → Carted → Checking Out → Submitting Order → Success.

• The task checks the seller on the product page, in the cart and at checkout, and stops before Place order if a marketplace seller slipped in while sellers are off.
• Quantity is what you set in the task, capped by Walmart's limit for the item.

Where Walmart interrupts

• Press and hold. Walmart's robot check. The row shows Action Needed and the window comes up; hold the button, then leave the window alone.
• Phone check. Walmart asks you to confirm a code sent to your phone, usually at checkout. Action Needed: type it in the window.
• Waiting room. On the biggest drops Walmart queues you. In Queue; the task waits.

If it didn't work

• The row says it's waiting on a third-party seller when you expected Walmart: that listing is marketplace-only right now. Either wait, or turn Allow third-party sellers on for that task.
• Entered but no result: Walmart's drawing result comes by email and in your Walmart account; the app doesn't buy from a win until the purchase window opens.
